Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with Galen Inpatient Physicians, Inc. for hospitalist services, extending the term through March 31, 2020, and increasing the amount by $1,635,000, to an amount not to exceed $8,175,000.

BACKGROUND:
On June 27, 2017, your Board approved an agreement with Galen Inpatient Physicians, Inc. to provide hospitalist services. The agreement has been amended multiple times, most recently to increase the number of contracted providers to manage the increase in daily admissions.
DISCUSSION:
San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is requesting your Board to extend the term of the current agreement through March 31, 2020, with an associated increase in funding, because the new agreement has been delayed due to prolonged negotiations.
The agreement and resolution have been reviewed and approved by County Counsel as to form. The agreement is coming to your Board late due to the prolonged negotiations mentioned above.
The resolution contains the County's standard provisions allowing amendment of the County fiscal obligations by a maximum of $25,000 (in aggregate).
It is anticipated that 85% of inpatients will report that they were always satisfied with the communication they received from their physician.
