BACKGROUND:
The Team of the Month program was established in September 2018 to recognize and honor County teams who consistently demonstrate an outstanding level of performance.
Our Team of the Month for October 2019 are from the Treasurer-Tax Collector and Controller’s Offices. Team members include: Robin Elliott, Patrick Peterson, Chris Kwok, Kathy Nunes, Sandeep Mishra, Shirley Tourel, Matt Slaughter, Kim-Anh Le, Brian Moran, and Myrlene Lipat.
DISCUSSION:
San Mateo County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office recently launched a new system to streamline operations and increase tax collection and treasury efficiency. As the first county in California to implement TaxSys - a web-based tax collection and billing system - the County of San Mateo will save time and money with smooth and simplified processes that allow the Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office to focus on business and taxpayer needs. The new system also offers taxpayers a variety of property tax payment options and is an excellent tool for generating reports and data analytics.
During the 2-years leading to implementation of the new property tax system the TaxSys Implementation Team worked countless hours going above and beyond to ensure the project would be implemented on time and within budget. This goal was achieved with a go-live date of September 3, 2019. The focus, dedication and collaborative efforts of this team led to the success of this project and is commendable and deserving of recognition.
San Mateo County is fortunate to have TaxSys staff as an outstanding team in the County.
