Recommendation for an appointment and reappointments to the San Mateo County Event Center Board of Directors, each for a term ending September 30, 2022:

A) Rosanne Foust, appointment for an initial full term; and

B) Leonard Iniguez, reappointment for a second term; and

C) Michael Pacelli, reappointment for a fourth and final term; and

BACKGROUND:
The Exposition and Fair Association directs the use of Event Center facilities. Directors are responsible for policy in the management and daily operation and maintenance of the Event Center.

DISCUSSION:
Leonard Iniguez is well-known and widely respected equestrian and livestock professional. Leonard has served on Board of Directors for the San Mateo Exposition and Fair Association since July, 2016.

Leonard first served as a member of the San Mateo County Fair Livestock Advisory; he is well known in the County Future Farmers of America and 4-H communities. A native of San Francisco, Iniguez has been a resident of San Mateo County for 40 years, having lived in Brisbane and now Pacifica.

Iniguez's volunteer and community experience include serving with the United Way of the Bay Area, the San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury, the San Mateo County Drug Abuse Advisory Board, San Mateo County Heart Association School Task Force, San Mateo Youth, and Family Assistance and the Mexican American Correctional Association. He is a long-time member of the San Francisco Horsemen's Association, having served three terms as president, in addition to service with the California State Horsemen's Association and the Brisbane Lions Club.
