Adopt a resolution authorizing the Chief of Health or her designee to execute an agreement with the California Department of Public Health to provide HIV care services for the term of April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2024, in an amount not to exceed $1,594,678.

BACKGROUND:
The San Mateo County Public Health STD/HIV Program (STD/HIV Program) provides a continuum of services, which include: outpatient ambulatory/medical care services, psychosocial care services, housing-related services, substance abuse services, food, education, prevention, and surveillance services, and is the main provider of HIV/AIDS services for San Mateo County residents affected by HIV/AIDS and their families. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) provides partial funding for outpatient/ambulatory medical care, medical transportation, and outreach services.
DISCUSSION:
CDPH has allocated $1,594,678 in funding to the STD/HIV Program for the period of April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2024. Funds for will cover expenses for 0.25 FTE physician, 0.67 FTE staff nurse, 0.59 FTE of a patient services assistant, medical transportation for clients of the program, and miscellaneous client service costs.
The resolution contains the County's standard provisions allowing amendment of the County's fiscal obligations by a maximum of $25,000 (in aggregate).
The agreement and resolution have been reviewed and approved by County Counsel as to form.
This contract is late due to delays in receiving the agreement from the State.
