BACKGROUND:
One East Palo Alto (OEPA) has provided multi-cultural center services and outreach and engagement services for consumers receiving mental health services in East Palo Alto since October 2008. The services are provided by community outreach workers who access and connect community members with appropriate behavioral health services in East Palo Alto.

DISCUSSION:
Through this agreement, OEPA will provide four distinct services: 1) multi-cultural wellness center services that welcome adult behavioral health consumers and their families, as well as serve target populations that reflect the multi-racial, multi-cultural, and multi-generational diversity in the community; 2) outreach, engagement, and linkage services through the East Palo Alto Partnership for Mental Health Outreach; 3) training for community partners about how to identify and help people with mental health issues through the Mental Health First Aid Program; and 4) a culturally competent crisis response to the Ravenswood City School District through an Ambassador Team that provides on-campus support, including consultation and counseling to students and school staff.
