B) Capt. Paul Kunkel, representing Police Chiefs, for a partial term ending March 31, 2020.

BACKGROUND:
The responsibility of the Emergency Medical Care Committee is to review and report to State Emergency Medical Services Authority and local EMS Agency its observations and recommendations for the emergency medical services system in San Mateo County. The Committee establishes and monitors emergency medical care guidelines, presents recommendations to improve emergency medical care, and establishes and monitors critical emergency medical services provided in San Mateo County.

DISCUSSION:
The California Highway Patrol is recommending the appointment of Sgt. Demian Warner to serve on the Emergency Medical Care Committee and the San Mateo County Emergency Medical Services supports the appointment. Sergeant Warner has been a sworn member of the California Highway Patrol for over 18 years and is currently serving as the Redwood City Area's Administrative Sergeant.

Captain Kunkel serves as the Chief of Police Services for the Millbrae Police Bureau of the San Mateo County Sherriff's Office, and is a former Director of the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services.
