body
BACKGROUND:
Lexipol provides policies and training for public safety organizations, delivering services through a web-based development system. Lexipol offers state-specific policy manuals, regular policy updates and online training. Lexipol's policy and training solutions have helped public safety agencies across the country.

DISCUSSION:
Lexipol's content has provided the framework for the Sheriff's policy manual since 2017. Lexipol provides the Sheriff's Office with the platform to create, maintain, and update our current policies and procedures. Lexipol allows easy access to Sheriff's Office policies for all Sheriff's Office employees, on any device, at any time. Lexipol's system is essential to our daily operations and ensures compliance and adherence to policy. Additionally, Lexipol provides transparency to the public by being accessible on the Sheriff's Office website. Lexipol's proprietary policy training software system is the only one to feature state-specific content and training bulletins linked to the policy content and updates. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the County to waive the Request for Proposals process and continue to contract with Lexipol on the basis of being a sole source provider.

The Contractor has assured compliance with the County's Contractor Employee Jury Service Ordinance, as well as all other contract provisions that are required by County ordinance and administrative memoranda, including but not limited to insurance, hold harmless, nondiscrimination and equal benefits.

The agreement and resolution have been reviewed and approved by County Counsel as to form.
