Recommendation for the appointment of Mark Stegmaier to the Coastside Design Review Committee, representing Montara Alternate, for a partial term ending March 31, 2020.

BACKGROUND:

The Coastside Design Review Committee reviews new development proposals to ensure that they are compatible with the physical setting of the site and the visual character of the communities of Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Miramar, and Princeton.  The Committee reviews development applications for compliance with specific site planning and architectural standards developed for the area.  In Summer 2018, the CDRC initiated on-going discussions through Special Open Study Session meetings for the purpose of updating the current Design Standards for the Midcoast.

 

DISCUSSION:

Mark Stegmaier is being recommended to a partial term for a seat that was vacated by Karen Staubach mid-term. Mark has thirty years of experience in construction, including design and drainage, in the Bay Area. Mark is a United States Army Veteran and currently works at Sierra West Builders.

 

This appointment contributes to the 2025 Shared Vision statement of a Collaborative Community. Our diverse population works well together to build strong communities, effective government and a prosperous economy, civic engagement - including voting, public service, charitable giving, volunteerism, and participation in public discussions of important issues - is uniformly high among the diverse population of San Mateo County.
