BACKGROUND:
The San Mateo County Parks Foundation ("Foundation") supports the San Mateo County Parks Department ("Department") by raising funds for programs and projects that promote the Department's strategic plan goals of community engagement, environmental literacy, stewardship, and creating healthy communities through use of County parks. The Foundation, which was established in 1998, is a 501(c)(3) organization and has a mission to inspire people to care for, learn about, and enjoy San Mateo County parks.

DISCUSSION:
Several core Department programs and projects have benefited from the Foundation's on-going support, including Bicycle Sunday, the Kite Festival, the Volunteer Program, and the Memorial Park Ranger Station Upgrade Project. To ensure the continued support for these and other important Department programs and projects, the Department is recommending a funding agreement with the Foundation in which the Department contributes $75,000 in FY 2019-20 and $75,000 in FY 2...
