Measure K: Adopt a resolution authorizing:

A) The President of the Board of Supervisors to execute an amendment to the agreement with Beebe's Water System Inc., extending the term of the agreement to June 30, 2021 in order to enable the continued delivery of professional services required to operate the Memorial Park Water Treatment Plant, and increasing the amount by $130,000 to an amount not to exceed $200,000; and

B) The Parks Director, or her designee, to execute further amendments to the agreement to modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the agreement's terms and/or services, so long as the modified term(s) and/or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.

BACKGROUND:
Memorial Park is popular for its picnic reservation sites, family and group campgrounds, recreational facilities, and towering redwood trees. During peak season, the park can serve as many as 3,000 visitors per day. This demand puts a considerable strain on the park's aging and deteriorating infrastructure.

To satisfy the demand for potable water, the San Mateo County Parks Department ("Department") maintains an on-site water treatment plant, which relies on treating raw water drawn from Pescadero Creek. The Department has an agreement with Beebe's Water Systems, Inc. ("BWS") for routine maintenance and repair services and professional services required to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
