BACKGROUND:
The City of Menlo Park (City) has coordinated with the Department to include the County's portions of Bellair Way and Harkins Avenue, which are situated in the West Menlo Park area, in the City's 2019 Street Resurfacing Project.

DISCUSSION:
On May 22, 2019, the City opened bids for their 2019 Street Resurfacing Project and subsequently determined the bid of O'Grady Paving Inc. to be the lowest responsible bid. The bid items associated with the resurfacing of the portions of Bellair Way and Harkins Avenue within the County limits total is $191,450 and with a 10 percent contingency and 10 percent City of Menlo Park Administrative Fee, the not to exceed amount of the work and agreement is $229,740.

The Director of Public Works recommends executing the agreement with the City for the County's portions for Bellair Way and Harkins Avenue as the roads have shared jurisdictional responsibilities and collaborating on this work will reduce the overall schedule and cost for this type of work on these roads.
