title

Introduction of an ordinance to rescind San Mateo County Ordinance 4143, dated October 29, 2002 and Section 7.48.100 of the San Mateo County Ordinance Code, thereby removing the weight limits of vehicular traffic on the Crystal Springs Dam Bridge due to the condition and repairs needed on the bridge, and waive the reading of the ordinance in its entirety.

body

BACKGROUND:

Your Board adopted Ordinance 04143 on October 29, 2002, which added Section 7.48.100, requiring vehicle and loads weight restrictions on County Bridge No. 67 situated on Crystal Springs Dam.

In December 2018, the Crystal Springs Dam Bridge Replacement project was completed with the design live loads meeting AASHTO HL-93 truck loading criteria, thus eliminating the need for the weight restriction.

DISCUSSION:

No public outreach is required for this proposal.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the ordinance as to form.

Approval of this action contributes to the Shared Vision 2025 outcome of a Livable Community by allowing vehicle and loads traffic to travel along the Crystal Springs Dam Bridge.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost to remove the signs will be funded through the FY 2018-19 Adopted Budget. There is no impact to the General Fund.
