BACKGROUND:
The San Mateo Resource Conservation District (RCD) is a special district within San Mateo County that provides comprehensive and integrated services related to wildlife, water, climate, and agriculture. Its service area encompasses a significant portion of the county, mostly along the coast. On July 1, 2017, your Board approved a contract with the RCD for an amount not to exceed $385,243 for services related to water quality improvement and natural resource protection.

Since August 8, 2017, your Board has approved four amendments to the agreement for work related to the Butano Channel Restoration and Resilience Project, waste diversion and reduction, and for work related to wildland fire risk reduction services.

DISCUSSION:
The RCD has successfully provided stormwater outreach services to the County for the past two years assisting the County in complying with the San Vicente Creek Water Quality Improvement Plan, which is required by the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board. The RCD is well-positioned to continue to provide these services.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the amended agreement and resolution as to form.
