BACKGROUND:
For over 20 years, Our Common Ground, Inc. (OCG) has provided substance use disorder outpatient and residential treatment services and recovery housing to San Mateo County adults with substance use problems. OCG's treatment approach follows a strength-based, modified therapeutic community model, which values relationships and views clients in light of their competencies, rather than their deficiencies. Success is based upon individual progress in treatment, while concentrating on academic and vocational pursuits.

On December 4, 2018, your Board approved an agreement with OCG for substance use disorder residential treatment services under the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS), for the term July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019, in an amount not to exceed $2,981,901.

DISCUSSION:
Through the DMC-ODS waiver, OCG continues to provide outpatient and residential treatment services to adult county residents. Services include individual therapy, individual counseling, group therapy, anger management, family therapy, room and board, and additional services that were not available prior to the waiver.
