BACKGROUND:
The Team of the Month program was established in September 2018 to recognize and honor County teams who consistently demonstrate an outstanding level of performance.

Our Team of the Month for June 2019 are members from the Human Resources Department, Organizational Development / Jobs for Youth Staff: Rosa Gonzalez, Conrad Fernandes, Sara Townsend, Auxiliadora (Auxi) Trejos-Machado, Felicia Flores, Chaten Berry, Ben Dalgetty, Julie Goebel, and Laurie Satizabal.

DISCUSSION:
The Jobs for Youth team was nominated for their outstanding efforts in providing the youth of San Mateo County with multiple programs to increase their self-esteem and gain important job seeking skills. Specially they were nominated for their work in coordinating and hosting the 37th Annual Fundraising Breakfast for the Jobs for Youth program on May 16, 2019.

The Jobs for Youth program serves youth 14 - 21 years of age who reside in San Mateo County with employment services. This year there are over 2,500 participants. The Jobs for Youth staff host 16 workshops in high schools, libraries and Boys and Girls Clubs throughout our San Mateo County community; and has begun phone consultations with these young adults. The youth master the job application form, learn to communicate effectively, gain interviewing skills, receive examples of resumes, cover letters, list of references, and thank you letters/emails to employers.
