BACKGROUND:
Coyote Point Recreation Area (Park) has a private water system, which provides water to several buildings, including the CuriOdyssey Museum, and other Park features such as the rifle range, a marina, fire hydrants, irrigation systems, drinking fountains, and restrooms. The system relies on water from two separate water utilities, namely the City of Burlingame and the California Water Service Company.

DISCUSSION:
Bracewell Engineering, Inc. (BEI) was contracted by the Parks Department to perform an investigation of the existing water pressures at various locations within the Park. Their investigation found that the water pressures and flow rates within the Park were inadequate to serve all the Park supported activities and uses. BEI also evaluated and determined the most appropriate and cost effective project to implement that would address the insufficient fire flows and pressures within the Park.
