BACKGROUND:
The County's new San Mateo Regional Operations Center (ROC) requires the construction and installation of fiber optic links for future network voice, data and video connectivity. Iteris served as the System Integrator for the entire San Mateo County Smart Corridor and was responsible for development of the overall network architecture, integration between Caltrans and local agency routers, configuration of the Avigilon Video Management System (VMS), and the establishment of connectivity to all field devices from the Communications Hub, located at the San Mateo Police Department, and all local agency operations centers. For the past two years, Iteris has provided network monitoring services for the City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County (C/CAG), which is responsible for maintaining the local agency portion of the Smart Corridor system.

DISCUSSION:
The services from Iteris will include the design and construction of a 96-strand fiber optic link between the ROC and the nearest Smart Corridor access point at the intersection of Industrial Way and Whipple Avenue to allow ROC staff members to access the San Mateo County Smart Corridor systems.
