Recommendation for the appointments and reappointments of to the San Mateo County Event Center Board of Directors:
A) James Tucker, appointment for a term ending September 30, 2021; and
B) Steven Wong, appointment for a term ending September 30, 2021; and
C) Beverly Miller, reappointment for a term ending September 30, 2020; and
D) Sarah Burdick, reappointment for a term ending September 30, 2020.

BACKGROUND:
The Exposition and Fair Association directs the use of Event Center facilities. Directors are responsible for policy in the management and daily operation and maintenance of the Event Center.
DISCUSSION:
James Tucker and Steven Wong are each being recommended for appointment of their first term. Beverly Miller has served on the Board of Directors since May 4, 2012 and is seeking her second full term. Sarah Burdick has served on the Board of Directors since September 16, 2014 and is seeking her second full term.
These appointments and reappointments contribute to the Board of Directors’ Mission Statement to use creative, innovative and fiscally responsible stewardship to expand and enhance the physical assets of the Event Center providing a solid foundation for implementing new concepts and experiences for the community.
These appointments and reappointments contribute to the 2025 Shared Vision statement of a Collaborative Community. Our diverse population works well together to build strong communities, effective government and a prosperous economy, civic engagement - including voting, public service, charitable giving, volunteerism, and participation in public discussions of important issues - is uniformly high among the diverse population of San Mateo County.
