RECOMMENDATION:
title
Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the current agreement with Go Native, Inc., for on-call professional vegetation management services, increasing the amount of the agreement by an additional $250,000 to an aggregate amount not to exceed $550,000.

body
BACKGROUND:
The San Mateo County Parks Department entered into Agreement No. 39000-16-R074330I with Go Native, Inc., to provide on-call professional vegetation management services, including pest management services. The initial agreement was for $300,000 with a three year term expiring on January 31, 2019. Through this Agreement the Natural Resource Management Unit of the Parks Department issued 16 task orders for various vegetation management and integrated pest management services throughout the Parks system including: jubata grass control and restoration, fumaria control, noxious weed control, slender false brome mapping and treatment, and Monterey pine control and reduction. The initial funding of $300,000 will be exhausted by the end of November 2017.

DISCUSSION:
Due to the ongoing vegetation management needs, the Parks Department is requesting an amendment to increase the amount of the current agreement by an additional $250,000. The additional $250,000 will be used for Stewardship Corps site preparation, Devil's Slide Trail jubata grass treatment, Pillar Point Bluff jubata grass treatment, San Bruno Mountain fennel control on Terrabay Parcels, emergency follow-up work on San Bruno Mountain, fuel reduction, and eucalyptus thinning projects.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution and amendment as to form.
