RECOMMENDATION:

Acting as the Governing Board of the Area Agency on Aging for the County of San Mateo, adopt a resolution authorizing:

A) The Chief of San Mateo County Health or her designee to enter into funding agreement(s) with the California Department of Aging, and all subsequent amendments thereto, to accept Older Americans Act funds for Title III, VII, Ombudsman and Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program and Executing Provider Agreements, received during or for the term within July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020; and

B) The Chief of San Mateo County Health or her designee to execute the Older Americans Act Community provider agreements and subsequent amendments, during or for the term July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020.

BACKGROUND:
In a related item on today's consent, your Board, as the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), approved the updated Area Plan for Services for Older Adults and Adults with Disabilities (Plan) 2016-2020. The Plan provides a profile of the County's senior population, identifies goals, and makes recommendations for services to be funded with San Mateo County's Older Americans Act of 1965 (OAA) funds. The Plan, along with an annual budget, fulfills the California Department of Aging's (CDA) requirements and generates a funding agreement.

In January 2017, Aging and Adult Services (AAS) issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to community providers servicing older adults and adults with disabilities, for the term July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2020. Community providers were selected by the RFP Evalua...
