RECOMMENDATION:

title

Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with Liebert Cassidy Whitmore for services to assist the County on matters related to labor negotiations, increasing the amount of the agreement by $100,000, for a new not to exceed amount of $200,000 with no change to the term.

body

BACKGROUND:

On November 6, 2018, the County entered into an agreement with Liebert Cassidy Whitmore for the provision of advising and consulting services with the Board of Supervisors and County departments on matters related to labor negotiations including but not limited to employment conditions and employer-employee relations.  The amount of the agreement was $100,000 for the term October 1, 2018, through December 31, 2020.

DISCUSSION:

The services first expected from Liebert Cassidy Whitmore have been increased due to ongoing labor negotiations and related issues.  It is necessary to increase the not to exceed amount of the agreement by $100,000.   There is no change to the term of the agreement.

County Counsel has approved the original agreement as well as the amendment to the agreement and the resolution as to form.

The amendment to the agreement contributes to the Shared Vision 2025 goal of a collaborative community as it assists with employer-employee labor negotiations.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment to the agreement increases the amount of the agreement by $100,000 to a new not to exceed amount of $200,000.  Funding for this agreement is included in the Non-Departmental Services FY 2018-19 Adopted budget and will be included in future budgets.
