A) Authorizing the County's Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the County Superintendent of Schools in conjunction with a special all-mail ballot election regarding the proposed transfer of ten houses and 23 undeveloped parcels between school districts to be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019; and

B) Authorizing payment of the costs for said election from the County's General Fund as required by the Education Code.

BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to Section 10002 of the Elections Code, the governing body of any city or district may request the Board of Supervisors to permit the County's Chief Elections Officer to render specified services to the city or district relating to the conduct of an election. Subject to the approval of the Board of Supervisors, these services shall be performed by the County's Chief Elections Officer.
The County Superintendent of Schools issued a resolution calling for a territory transfer measure to be submitted to voters on May 7, 2019. The County Superintendent of Schools has also requested this election to be conducted by way of an all-mail ballot pursuant to Section 4000 of the Elections Code.

DISCUSSION:
The request of the County Superintendent of Schools is proper, the County's Chief Elections Officer is agreeable to providing the specified election services as requested, and all related costs will be reimbursed by the County General Fund as required by Section 35759 of the Education Code.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution as to form.
