BACKGROUND:
The Smart Family Foundation makes an annual donation to the San Mateo County Parks Department ("Department") for the explicit benefit of Coyote Point Recreation Area ("Coyote Point"). While the Smart Family Foundation focuses on arts, education, medicine, and environmental issues, this philanthropic organization has funded many park improvements throughout Coyote Point, including new picnic tables, park-wide paving, and renovation of the Beach Group Picnic Area. The donation in question will help fund much needed roadway and facility renovation projects.

DISCUSSION:
For FY 2018-19, the Smart Family Foundation is providing $180,000 in a cash donation for various projects at Coyote Point. The table below reflects cost estimates for each project.
