Adopt a resolution:
A) Authorizing an amendment to the pledge agreement with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford for coordination of prenatal and obstetric/gynecological care to low-income populations, extending the term of the agreement through May 31, 2019; and
B) Authorizing the acceptance of an additional $300,000 in grant funds to an amount not to exceed $900,000.

BACKGROUND:
Since June 2012, Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford (LPCH) has been reimbursing the County, through San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC), for coordinating prenatal and obstetric/gynecological care to low-income populations. On April 26, 2016, your Board approved the acceptance of grant funds enabling SMMC to continue to provide these services, in the amount not to exceed $600,000, for the term of June 1, 2016 through May 31, 2018.
DISCUSSION:
LPCH has expressed their support in continuing SMMC's prenatal obstetric and gynecological care for the vulnerable community they serve and has committed to a one-year extension of the pledge agreement through May 31, 2019, with an associated increase in grant funds.
The amendment and resolution have been reviewed and approved by County Counsel as to form. This amendment is coming to your Board late due to the late arrival of grant funding awarded to SMMC.
The amendment contributes to the Shared Vision 2025 outcome of a Healthy Community by providing prenatal care to women who reside in the County through collaboration with LPCH. It is anticipated that under thi...
