BACKGROUND:

The San Mateo County Transit District Board, otherwise known as SamTrans, is made up of nine members consisting of representation from the Board of Supervisors; Public Members (including one from the Coast); Southern, Central, and Northern City Members; and, one member possessing expertise in the field of transportation duties of Board Director are to set policy and approve funding for the transit district.

 

DISCUSSION:

Supervisor Dave Pine has served on SamTrans since January 2017 during a partial term which was vacated at the end of Supervisor Adrienne Tisser’s term on the Board of Supervisors and requests to be reappointed. Peter Ratto has served on the Board since 2015 and wishes to be reappointed for a second term.
