A)                     Maya Lis Tussing, for a term ending December 31, 2019; and

 

B)                     Dana Linda, for a term ending December 31, 2020; and

 

C)                     Anya Drabkin, for a term ending December 31, 2020; and

 

D)                     Nirmala Bandrapalli, for a term ending December 31, 2020; and

 

E)                     Rebecca Oyama, for a term ending December 31, 2022; and

 

F)                     Rebecca Wise, for a term ending December 31, 2022.

BACKGROUND:

The Commission is charged with the responsibility of assessing the needs of women, girls and families in the County. Acts as a resource and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors annually.

 

DISCUSSION:

Lisa Williams resigned earlier this year and thus created a vacancy for which Maya Lis Tussing was appointed (a partial term).

 

Kristy Koberna resigned earlier this year and thus created a vacancy for which Dana Linda was appointed (a partial term).

 

Tanisha Hughes resigned earlier this year and thus created a vacancy for which Anya Drabkin was appointed (a partial term).

 

Darya Larizadeh resigned earlier this summer and thus created a vacancy for which Nirmala Bandrapalli was appointed (a partial term).

 

Both Rebecca Oyama and Rebecca Wise are filling open vacancies with full four-year terms.

 

These appointments contribute to the 2025 Shared Vision statement of a Collaborative Community. Our diverse population works well together to build strong communities, effective government and a prosperous economy, civic engagement - including voting, public service, charitable giving, volunteerism, and participation in public discussions of important issues - is uniformly high among the diverse population of San Mateo County.
