Subject:                      Amendment to resolution Establishing Salaries and Benefits for Unrepresented Management Employees

RECOMMENDATION:

title

Adopt a resolution amending and restating the prior resolution establishing salaries and benefits of Unrepresented Management Employees of the County of San Mateo for the term of October 12, 2014, through October 6, 2018.

body

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

The proposed resolution amends and restates the current Unrepresented Management Unit resolution (Resolution No. 073523) to change the language in Section 1: Salaries and Benefits, 2. F, regarding County paid member contributions to retirement and the County paid share of the retirement COLA costs for members of the Board of Supervisors. This change decreases the County’s share of member contributions and COLA costs, and provides consistency between all similarly situated members whose contributions are governed by the Unrepresented Management Unit Resolution.

There are no other changes to the resolution.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution as to form.  Approval of this resolution contributes to Shared Vision 2025 of a Prosperous Community by ensuring cost-effective and consistent compensation for members participating in SAMCERA pension plans that are governed by the Resolution.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The savings associated with this change will be approximately $6,450 for the duration of this resolution.
