BACKGROUND:
In August of 2012, the San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) completed a Request for Proposals (RFP) for biomedical engineering and diagnostic imaging maintenance services. In November of 2012, your Board approved a five-year agreement with Aramark Health Care Technologies, LLC, to provide these services. The agreement has been amended multiple times to reflect changes in the inventory equipment list. In May 2018, SMMC released an RFP for biomedical and diagnostic imaging maintenance services and is currently in the process of reviewing the proposals.

DISCUSSION:
SMMC is requesting that your Board extend the term of the current agreement through August 31, 2018, with an associated increase in funding, to allow SMMC time to review the proposals and execute a new agreement. SMMC will be bringing a new five-year agreement to your Board for approval in July 2018.

The amendment and resolution have been reviewed and approved by County Counsel as to form.

The County's Contract Compliance Committee has approved a waiver request to extend the agreement by an additional ten months beyond the original five-year term.
