BACKGROUND:
Your Board has adopted similar resolutions designating parking restrictions.

Section 22507 et. seq. of the California Vehicle Code and Section 7.30.10 of the San Mateo County Ordinance Corde provides that local authorities may prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking or standing of vehicles by resolution or ordinance.

The Department of Public Works (Department) received requests from members of the community, as well as the Woodside Fire Protection District for a "No Parking" zone on El Nido Road in the Los Trancos Area. The Department evaluated the intersection of El Nido Road and Los Trancos Circle and determined the road is narrow and parking along this stretch of road constricts the flow of traffic.

DISCUSSION:
The Department has evaluated the requests and determined that the recommended parking restriction is warranted and will benefit the community. The "No Parking" zone will impose parking restrictions at the intersection of El Nido Road and Los Trancos Circle to improve access for emergency service vehicles to Los Trancos Circle, Vista Verde Way, and El Nido Road.

Property owners on adjacent blocks, extending a minimum of 300 feet from the proposed parking restriction were notified of the date and time of your Board's meeting when this Item will be considered.
