BACKGROUND:
The County has conducted a nationwide recruitment for the position of Human Services Agency Director. Ms. Pollack has been nominated by the County Manager as the best candidate for this position based on 22 years of experience in social services as an employment and training specialist, supervisor, manager, deputy director and director of social services for two years in Nevada County. In addition, Ms. Pollack has served in various capacities here in San Mateo County. First as our WIB Director, Assistant Agency Director of the Human Services Agency and more recently Interim Agency Director. She holds master’s degrees in public administration and counseling psychology.
The Charter requires the Board of Supervisors to confirm appointments of department heads nominated by the County Manager.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Ms. Pollack’s annual salary will be $230,963.20.
