Recommendation for the reappointment of Thomas Ames to the San Mateo County Event Center Board of Directors, for a term ending September 30, 2020.

BACKGROUND:
The Exposition and Fair Association directs the use of Event Center facilities. Directors are responsible for policy in the management and daily operation and maintenance of the Event Center.
DISCUSSION:
Thomas Ames has served on the San Mateo County Event Center Board of Directors since September 16, 2014 and is seeking reappointment for a second term.
This reappointment contributes to the Board of Directors’ Mission Statement to use creative, innovative and fiscally responsible stewardship to expand and enhance the physical assets of the Event Center providing a solid foundation for implementing new concepts and experiences for the community.
This reappointment contributes to the 2025 Shared Vision statement of a Collaborative Community. Our diverse population works well together to build strong communities, effective government and a prosperous economy, civic engagement - including voting, public service, charitable giving, volunteerism, and participation in public discussions of important issues - is uniformly high among the diverse population of San Mateo County.
