Recommendation for the appointment of Pui Ying (Jane) Ho to the Youth Commission, for a term ending June 30, 2018.

BACKGROUND:
The Youth Commission advises the Board of Supervisors on issues related to the youth in San Mateo County. The Board of Supervisors is responsible for appointing new members to the Youth Commission, based on interviews with applicants. The Youth Commission may have up to 25 members. Each Youth Commissioner is appointed to a one-year term of office and can serve up to four terms until the age of 21.
DISCUSSION:
The Board of Supervisors appointed 25 youth on July 25, 2017. Since then, a second vacancy has emerged. It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors appoint Pui Ying (Jane) Ho, a resident of El Granada and graduate of Half Moon Bay High School, to the Youth Commission to fill this vacancy. Her term of office will end on June 30, 2018.
