BACKGROUND:
The City/County Association of Governments (C/CAG) is the Congestion Management Agency for the County of San Mateo and administers federal funding available through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). C/CAG informed the Department of Public Works (Department) that the County is eligible to apply for federal funding pursuant to MTC's One Bay Area Grant 2 Federal Aid Secondary Shares Continuation Program (Program) in the amount of approximately $892,000.
On February 28, 2017, your Board adopted Resolution Nos. 075064 and 075065, which authorized the Director of Public Works, or his designee, to submit the filing of an application for funding assigned to the MTC, committing any necessary matching funds, and stating assurance to complete the Countywide Bridge Maintenance Project and Canada Road Resurfacing Project, respectively.

DISCUSSION:
Subsequent to your Board's action in February, 2017, MTC informed the County that the bridges included in the proposed Countywide Bridge Maintenance Project are not eligible for the Program funding. In order to apply for and receive the Program funding, the County must submit an application to MTC with a resolution adopted by your Board.
