BACKGROUND:
The Agricultural Advisory Committee actively assists in the preservation of agriculture throughout San Mateo County through advice and recommendation to the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors.
DISCUSSION:
Ron Sturgeon has over 40 years of experience raising cattle in San Mateo County on a ranch protected with a conservation easement. As a member of the Agricultural Advisory Committee, Ron looks forward to helping preserve agriculture on the San Mateo County coast.
This appointment contributes to the 2025 Shared Vision statement of a Collaborative Community. Our diverse population works well together to build strong communities, effective government and a prosperous economy, civic engagement - including voting, public service, charitable giving, volunteerism, and participation in public discussions of important issues - is uniformly high among the diverse population of San Mateo County.
