Subject: Amendment to the Agreement with California Psychiatric Transitions for Mental Health Rehabilitation Services

RECOMMENDATION:
title
Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with California Psychiatric Transitions for the provision of mental health rehabilitation services, extending the term through June 30, 2018, increasing the amount by $1,400,000 to an amount not to exceed $3,600,000.

BACKGROUND:
California Psychiatric Transitions (CPT) is located in Delhi, California, and is one of a very limited number of Mental Health Rehabilitation Centers that specialize in working with people who are dually diagnosed as seriously mentally ill and developmentally disabled or brain injured. BHRS has contracted with CPT for these services since 2002.

On July 30, 2015, this Board approved an agreement with California Psychiatric Transitions to provide mental health rehabilitation services, for the term July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016, in an amount not to exceed $586,000.

On April 26, 2016, our Board approved an amendment to the Agreement to increase the maximum obligation by $1,614,000 to an amount not to exceed $2,200,000 and extending the agreement through June 30, 2017.

CPT beds will continue to be available to San Mateo County residents under this agreement. BHRS manages the placements in this and other adult and older adult long-term residential service facilities within the total budget available for these services.

The amendment and resolution have been reviewed and approv...
