Adopt resolutions:
A) Authorizing the acceptance of cash and in-kind donations in the amount of $151,826 for FY 2017-2018 from the San Mateo County Parks Foundation.
B) Authorizing an Appropriation Transfer Request in the amount of $133,232 from unanticipated revenue to corresponding appropriations in services and supplies.

BACKGROUND:
The San Mateo County Parks Foundation (“Foundation”) raises funds and provides in-kind services for various improvements and programs in County Parks. As in the prior fiscal year, the Department proposes to bring these donations to the Board of Supervisors two to three times per year.
DISCUSSION:
For FY 2017-2018, the Foundation is providing $141,732 in cash donations for various projects and programs, and $10,094 in in-kind support. Of the $141,732 in cash donations, the $8,500 for the Commemorative Table will be deposited into the Park Bench Donations Trust Fund, which is not part of the General Fund. The Appropriation Transfer Request is for $133,232.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution and appropriation transfer request as to form.
Acceptance of the Foundation’s cash and in-kind donations contributes to the Shared Vision 2025 outcome of an Environmentally Conscious Community by providing financial support for County Parks programs such as the SCA summer youth crews, volunteer program, bicycle Sunday, maintenance and restoration projects, and improvements to park facilities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The amount of donations to be received from the Foundation for any fiscal year is not known at the time the budget is prepared. An Appropriation Transfer Request is being requested to recognize the unanticipated revenue of $133,232 and to make corresponding appropriations in services and supplies.
There is no additional fiscal impact on Net County Cost.
