BACKGROUND:
On October 1, 2020, following the completion of a competitive procurement process, the County entered into an agreement with Redwood Toxicology Laboratory, Inc. to provide blood and urine testing services for prosecution cases. Redwood Toxicology Laboratory, Inc. was selected through a Request for Proposals process conducted in 2020, in an amount not to exceed $140,000, with a term of October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023, and an option to extend for two more years.

On October 1, 2023, the parties amended the Agreement ("Amendment 1") to extend the term through September 30, 2025, and to increase the maximum amount payable under the Agreement by $59,999, to an amount not to exceed $199,999.

On March 1, 2024, the parties amended the Agreement a second time ("Amendment 2") to replace Exhibit B to change the description of drugs covered.

DISCUSSION:
The County's current Agreement with Redwood Toxicology Laboratory, Inc. provides the County with services for blood and urine testing has expired. To allow the County to conduct a competitive procurement to evaluate current market offerings, staff recommends a 6-month extension to the Agreement.
