Adopt a resolution authorizing agreements with Jahini LLC, DBA Redwood Creek Inn in an amount not to exceed $200,000 and V & H Hospitality, Inc. for hotel services, for the term of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $200,000.

BACKGROUND:
Aging and Adult Services (AAS) provides a wide range of services to assist seniors, people with disabilities, and dependent adults to live as safely and independently as possible in the community.
Adult Protective Services (APS) helps adults 60 and older and dependent adults (18-59 with disabilities), when the adults are unable to meet their own needs, or are victims of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Home Safe, a state-funded but locally administered program for current APS clients or those in the APS intake process, addresses homelessness among seniors and adults with disabilities, in part by providing housing navigation and direct financial assistance. The need for hotel services to provide emergency shelter for clients has risen quickly during the two years San Mateo County has been receiving Home Safe funding.
AAS clients who need hotel services may have various issues, including, but not limited to financial, mental health, and behavioral issues, COVID-related illnesses, behavioral issues, and physical disabilities. Hotel services have been used in emergency situations or when clients' homes are damaged by extreme weather incidents. Hotel/motel stays may range from a few days to up to a little over a month.
