Measure K: Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center for alcohol and other drug prevention services, Community Capacity Building, and Parent Project classes for the term July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018, in an amount not to exceed $225,240.

BACKGROUND:
Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) has contracted with the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (PCRC) for alcohol and other drug (AOD) prevention services since July 2008. These services include community capacity building, community education and awareness, asset building strategies for youth and families, and environmental prevention efforts in the City of San Mateo region.
In January 2017, BHRS issued a Request for Proposals for community-based partnerships to provide AOD substance use prevention services. Community-based partnerships sustain effective AOD prevention efforts in the County's six geographic community service areas (CSAs) as identified by BHRS: 1) Northwest CSA: Daly City, Pacifica, and Colma; 2) Northeast CSA: Brisbane, South San Francisco, San Bruno and Millbrae; 3) Coastside CSA: Half Moon Bay, La Honda, and Pescadero; 4) Central CSA: Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Mateo, Foster City and Belmont; 5) South CSA: San Carlos, Redwood City, Woodside, Atherton, West Menlo Park, and Portola Valley; and 6) East Palo Alto CSA: East Menlo Park and East Palo Alto.
