BACKGROUND:
In April 2018, the Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with the Transit Agencies for Public Safety Communications (PSC) to provide full-time law enforcement communications services. The Board subsequently amended that agreement in January 2021, to extend the term through June 30, 2025.

DISCUSSION:
In June 2026, PSC and the Transit Agencies have reviewed and mutually agreed upon a continuation of law enforcement communications services via a new Agreement. Notably, this Agreement continues existing services for a five-year term from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2030, with a total payment of $3,856,242.

In addition to communications and dispatch services, PSC provides supervisory personnel 24 hours a day, seven days a week, management overhead, and public safety systems oversight and maintenance.

County Attorney has reviewed and approved the Agreement and Resolution as to form.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Approval of this Agreement will ensure public safety and allow continuation of vital law enforcement communications services for County residents.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Under this Agreement, total reimbursement to the County is $3,856,242 for services beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2030. The associated revenues and service expe...
