Recommendation for the following appointments to the Midcoast Community Council (MCC), each representing the Midcoast for an initial partial term ending December 31, 2028:
A) Antonio Conte; and
B) David Santoro.

BACKGROUND:
The Midcoast Community Council (MCC) advises the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors on matters including, but not limited to, public health, safety, welfare, public works and planning which affect the unincorporated Midcoast communities of Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Princeton, and Miramar.
Pursuant to its establishing Resolution, which the Board of Supervisors adopted in 1991, members of the MCC are elected by the registered voters of certain election precincts on the Midcoast. While the establishing Resolution does not speak to the manner in which vacancies are to be filled, the practice since 1998 has been for the MCC to recommend persons for appointment and for action to be taken by the Board of Supervisors to make the appointments.
DISCUSSION:
There are presently two vacant seats on the MCC. At its February 25, 2026 meeting, the MCC considered seven (7) applications and interviewed candidates. The MCC recommended that Antonio Conte and David Santoro each be appointed to serve an existing partial term for seats vacated by Chris Rogers and Kevin Sniecinski, whose seats carry existing terms expiring December 31, 2028. These appointments' terms each take effect upon approval of this memorandum through December 31, 2028.
