San Mateo County, Santa Cruz County, and Monterey County make up the Central Coast Region and are represented by an appointee of the Speaker of the Assembly.  In regions composed of three counties, such as the Central Coast Region, the Board shall nominate one or more Supervisor(s) for appointment within 45 days from the date of receipt of a request for nominations.  (Pub. Res. Code, § 30301.2.)

The Board shall nominate at least one Member to represent the Central Coast Region on the California Coastal Commission.  The nominee(s) will then be sent to the Speaker of the Assembly’s Appointments Unit.
