BACKGROUND:
JobTrain, Inc. (JobTrain) has provided vocational training and educational programs to the San Mateo County incarcerated population for over a decade. Programs and services include but are not limited to the following: culinary and baking arts; hospitality; financial literacy; construction pre-apprenticeship; work readiness, career counseling, life skills; and re-entry coordination. JobTrain continues to be an integral part of the County's efforts to reduce recidivism for justice-involved individuals who are in custody.

DISCUSSION:
In the Fall of 2024, the Sheriff's Office issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for programs and services for the County's incarcerated population. JobTrain was selected to provide in-custody programs and services for San Mateo County's justice-involved population. The agreement reflects the first year of contracted services under the RFP.
