BACKGROUND:
The Coyote Point Marina periodically requires maintenance dredging due to siltation of its channels and berths from San Francisco Bay's tidal action. Previous maintenance dredging in 2010, 2006, and 2002 included the Marina's main channel, most of the secondary channels used by tenants to access their boat slips, and specific boat slips. Since the completion of those dredging episodes, a new siltation has occurred that is once again affecting navigation in portions of the Marina.

On June 28, 2016, your Board approved a contract with Transystems, Inc., to provide consultant services to prepare plans and specifications and to secure permits to dredge areas of the Marina. Both the Public Works Department and Parks Department have reviewed and approved the design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the Coyote Point Marina 2017 Maintenance Dredging Project (Project).
