Subject: Agreement with Insurgical, Inc to Provide Surgery Power Equipment and Services

RECOMMENDATION:
title
Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with Insurgical, Inc to provide surgery power equipment and services, for the term of February 1, 2026 through January 31, 2029, in an amount not to exceed $250,000.

body
BACKGROUND:
San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) has a continued need for surgical power equipment for our operating room. Reliable, high-quality surgical power equipment is essential for a wide range of procedures. In November 2025, SMMC completed a Request for Proposals for power equipment for our operating room.

DISCUSSION:
Insurgical, Inc (Insurgical) was elevated due to several factors, including their ability to offer a unique, single-use recyclable solution for large-bone surgical power tools. This approach supports both operational efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Insurgical will also provide comprehensive training for our surgical staff to ensure proper and effective use of the equipment. Battery chargers, batteries, pin drivers, and Jacobs chucks will be supplied non-sterile, along with instructions for on-site packaging and sterilization as needed.

The County Attorney has reviewed and approved the resolution and agreement as to form.

The resolution contains the County's standard provisions allowing amendment of the County fiscal obligations by a maximum of $25,000 (in aggregate).

It is anticipated that Insurgical will maintain a minimum operation uptime of 99% for all power equipment to prevent surgical delays due to equipment unavailability.
