BACKGROUND:
On February of 2021, a nationwide Request for Proposal (RFP) was released through the County's Public Purchase portal, which yielded eight proposals. Proposals were reviewed and evaluated by staff. MaintStar, Inc. was chosen as the software that best meets the needs of the Department of Public Works (Department).

On September 14, 2021, the Board adopted Resolution No. 078423 authorizing an agreement with MaintStar Inc. to provide Enterprise Asset Management System software services from September 15, 2021 to September 14, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $300,000. When MaintStar, Inc. was implemented in 2021, a system integration was implemented to incorporate legacy data into the new asset management application. A five-year period of data has been collected and saved within MaintStar, Inc. and continued usage of MaintStar, Inc. would assist the department while a formal RFP is conducted for Enterprise Asset Management System software required by County Procurement.
