Adopt a resolution designating the County Parks Director as the County authorized agent for the purpose of engaging with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services specifically as related to the County's DR-4558-CA Disaster Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Sub-application for Project #AP00391 (Wildfire Hazard Fuel Reduction at Junipero Serra County Park)

BACKGROUND:
On July 19, 2024, the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services ("Cal OES") notified the County Parks Department ("Department") that it had been awarded Hazard Mitigation Grant funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA"). This Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (DR-4558-CA) is related to the 2020 California wildfires, including the CZU Lightning Complex Fire which impacted parts of southern San Mateo County. The Department submitted the sub-application in order to secure funding to mitigate the risk of wildfires by conducting wildfire fuel reduction efforts within Junipero Serra County Park.
To be eligible to receive funding, Cal OES requires that program applicants provide a Form 130 Designation of Applicant's Agent Resolution for Non-State Agencies Applicants, that has been authorized by the applicant's governing body using the form of resolution provided by Cal OES.
DISCUSSION:
