RECOMMENDATION:

title

Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with LGV Consulting for project management services, increasing the amount by $50,000 for a new total amount not to exceed $249,999 and extending the term by six months through December 31, 2024.

BACKGROUND:

In March 2021, this Board approved the Sheriff’s Headquarters Center Project. The project includes renovation of the Old Maguire Jail and construction of a new fifth floor. The Sheriff’s Headquarters Center will accommodate most of the Sheriff’s Office personnel that previously worked in the Hall of Justice.

In May 2022, the Sheriff’s Office entered into a contract with LGV Consulting for project management services to include managing the Sheriff’s Headquarters Center Project and serving as a coordinating liaison with all Sheriff’s Office bureaus/units, consultants, contractors, and architects.

DISCUSSION:

An amendment to extend the term and increase the amount of the agreement is required to allow the contractor to manage the project through completion.

The Sheriff’s Office is requesting the Request for Proposals process be waived as this

contractor possesses the required skills and subject matter expertise to provide the

needed Project Management representation and oversight for the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters Center Project. LGV Consulting has been instrumental so far in providing Project Management leadership and oversight for this project.

The Resolution and agreement have been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment extends the term of the agreement for six months and increases the amount by $50,000. The funding for this agreement has been included in the Sheriff’s Office FY 2024-25 Recommended Budget.
