Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with the City of Daly City to receive warrant services provided by the Sheriff's Office for a term commencing July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, with reimbursement to the County in the amount of $214,222.97.

BACKGROUND:
The Sheriff’s Office has provided contract warrant services to the City of Daly City for approximately ten years. Contracting with the Sheriff’s Office has proved to be both a cost effective and efficient option for the City. The current contract is set to expire on June 30, 2026.
DISCUSSION:
City management has expressed their desire to continue contracting with the County for the provision of warrant services and enter into a new one-year agreement beginning July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
As with the previous agreement, services include: warrant entry, updates to status changes, all follow-ups with arresting agencies, and court pick up notifications.
The County Attorney has reviewed and approved the resolution and agreement as to form.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, through its contracted services with the City of Daly City, plays a crucial role in the timely entry or removal of wanted persons into the state and nationwide database of Wanted Persons. This enhances public safety services when making contact with individuals.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This agreement is for a one-year term commencing July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, with reimbursement to the County in the amount of $214,222.97 for services provided in FY 2026-27. Reimbursement for this contract has been included in the Sheriff’s Office FY 2026-27 budget.
