Recommendation for the appointment of Amy McHugh to the Commission on the Status of Women, for an initial partial term ending December 31, 2028.

body

BACKGROUND:

The Commission on the Status of Women is charged with the responsibility of assessing the needs of women, girls and families in the County. It acts as a resource and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors annually.

DISCUSSION:

Amy McHugh is being recommended to serve on a seat vacated by Jess Hudson, who resigned mid-term. Approval of this appointment is for an existing term through December 31, 2028.

Amy McHugh has lived in San Mateo County for nearly 30 years and currently lives in Hillsborough. She has spent her career mostly in the private sector and has pivoted to non-profit as the Director of Finance and Operations for Leadership Council San Mateo County. An avid volunteer, she has served as members of foundations, school and parent boards, and has wanted to step into civic engagement with the Commission on the Status of Women.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.
